Opinions on Ukraine

I am standing on a soap box. I am an Independent candidate for US Senate for Missouri.
I have about 230 signatures from registered Missouri voters and I need 10,000 for
ballot access to the general election. Still, I am a registered with the US Federal
Elections Commission (FEC) for US Senate in 2022. And I know that each of those
who signed my petition believed in my purpose. So I continue. I have not been
approached by any of the media — no cable networks, no newspapers. My Tweets
probably make little difference. I don’t have 1 million $ in my election fund.

Lenin spoke of Marx and Engels class division in society between the proletariat and the
bourgeois and the need for the dictatorship of the proletariat. His starting
point was the grand illusion of U.S. freedom. Lenin said, “Workmen know
know very well that the “freedom of meetings” even in the most democratic bourgeois republic
is an empty phrase — for the rich have all the best public and private buildings at their
disposal…and sufficient leisure time for meetings and the protection these meetings by the
bourgeois apparatus of authority.” This is all truth, but does not, in my humble opinion,
justify a dictatorship of the proletariat. Because a dictatorship of the proletariat is
just a dictatorship. And in a dictatorship, freedom of speech and meetings is the
cynical tool of lies and propaganda.

Today, in our world, we face a choice. Our world can be a free world, or it can become ever more
oppressive. The technologies, which include the internet, give us this choice.

The globe is interconnected with money and goods flowing across borders. Oppression in one country leads to record profits in another. Today, a bully anywhere is a bully everywhere. Dictators and strong men are members of an exclusive club with a steep entrance fee — murder of their adversaries, and oppression and subjugation of their people.

There now is a war between Ukraine and Russia. To many Russians it is just that — the Ukrainians are the children of Nazis, and they are fighting for their kin. To many Ukrainians, they are fighting because the Russians have
invaded.

But to me, this war is a war of the free world against corrupt dictators and strongmen.

Andrei Sakharov said, “A country that does not respect the rights of its own people
will not respect the rights of its neighbors.”

I have a choice. And I choose freedom. I choose freedom in Missouri, I choose freedom in USA,
I choose freedom in Ukraine. I choose freedom in CCCP. I choose
freedom throughout all the globe. I am not an isolationist. I do not appease. I believe we, Americans,
have a special destiny, a mission to bring freedom and democracy to the world.

If Mr. Putin believes, he should bring his troops home. And Mr. Putin should work for freedom and democracy in Russia. And if he doesn’t, he needs to retire.

Does our Republic live by its Constitution? Can I really run for U.S. Senate and not be approved by a party apparatchik? Was Lenin right? Do I really have free speech? Do I really have a chance? For me, the ability for me to run this election means I have already won. We all have won, because we are living in a free society.
Because it has happened in Russia. Because it happened in Germany in 1938. And because it can happen here. The truth is it can happen anywhere.

Winston Churchill said in 1946,

Last time I saw it all coming and cried aloud to my own fellow-countrymen…but no one paid any attention. Up till the year 1933 or even 1935, Germany might have been saved from the awful fate which has overtaken her and we might all have been spared the miseries Hitler let loose upon mankind. …It [WW II] could have been prevented…without the firing of a single shot…but no one would listen and one by one we were all sucked into the awful whirlpool. We…must not let that happen again…

Our leadership is cynical and selfish. And they are brutish and ignorant. Trump spent his four years undermining NATO and the UN saying that it was too expensive. He actually wanted to draw down our US forces stationed in Germany and other NATO countries. Biden presided over the fall of Afghanistan. And January Sixth has shown the world the weakness and rot of our society.

Our Missouri leaders and challengers display an unhealthy isolationism. They actively try to dismantle the post World War II security structures of NATO and the UN. Because it is too expensive. Because the money is better spent in Missouri. Build a wall on our Mexico border, and it’s o.k. to let a million refugees flee for their lives in Europe. Because real peace is too expensive and risky. Their foreign policy is ignorant and stupid.

This is why I am running.

They highlight their military experience on their resumes. “I served for 13 years as a Marine”, or “I am an ex-Navy SEAL”, or “I have my AR-15 for protection”, “I have been to the Mexico border”. They pose with their uniforms. Our U.S. military is supposed to be neutral in the election process.

I don’t pose with a military uniform. I don’t highlight my military experience. I don’t pose with a rifle.
